What You Will Learn
The qualification contains one mandatory unit covering the principles of working as a security officer in the private security industry.
This mandatory Level 2 unit focuses on updating the knowledge and skills required for security officers to continue working effectively and safely within the private security industry.

Entry Requirements
Learners must have sufficient English language skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening to meet the requirements specified for the qualification.
Learners renewing their Security Officer licence must also hold a current and valid First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate that meets the relevant requirements.
First Aid Requirement
The First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate must be valid for at least 12 months from the course start date. Training providers are responsible for checking the learner's certificate before training.
Assessment
The qualification uses externally set and externally marked multiple-choice assessment together with a practical assessment component.
